Beliefs can be conscious and/or subconscious. Like a hard drive in a computer, this is where most of the belief-system ‘software’ is stored. The computer memory data are not stored in the central processing chip itself, but in the energy field. There is a relationship with the brain and mind, respectively. This ‘software’ is largely responsible for our habitual thoughts and behaviours.
Self-Limiting Beliefs…
I am sure you are familiar with some negative beliefs. Everyone has them. It’s the negative and self-critical voice inside your head telling you for example: “you are not good enough” or “you will never make it”. These critical messages hold you back from living your best version. But next to that it also influences our perceptions, shape your character and identity. But also affect your relationship with yourself and others. The sad part of it all is you are sabotaging your own success in many ways. False beliefs about yourself or others can impact your world a lot. The positive intention of it is: that it wants to protect you. Probably from falling or failing. Every behaviour and thought has a function and a positive intention. Rather you believe it or not.
Since 90 percent of our actions stem from our subconscious, our false beliefs play a huge role in nearly everything we do.
Many of our beliefs are also positive and very useful. Different people can have different beliefs about something and view it as the “truth”.
So how can you change these Limiting Beliefs?
Reprogramming your mindset is key. Remind yourself that every thought that you continue to repeat will have more and more chance to become an unconscious belief and will get into a habit. But, the beauty of it is that if you do this with positive thoughts it will happen too. So replacing your negative thoughts for positive thoughts on a daily basis will help you reprogram your unconscious mind.
So write down at least 10 things you are telling yourself that are sabotaging your success!
Change those thoughts in helpful/positive thoughts and repeat those for one week. You will see how it will change your mood, your motivation and most of all your actions and behaviour. The more you tell yourself these thoughts the more it will become a part of you and your identity. You will start believing it is true. The brain doesn’t know what is true or not. It means that what you imagine to be happening is actually happening as far as your brain is concerned.
